ENG "Organize your possessions into piles, climb on top and read important books while enjoying the view." (Andreas Angelidakis, Architect, Athens)
I piled up my top Recyclie-minded translations in Finnish; I've translated all kinds of books and booklets, from pet books to cookery books, but these here are perfectly in line with the blog: Vintage Home by Sarah Moore (not in the picture, as it's yet to come out in Finland), Quick and Easy Paint Transformations by Annie Sloan and Junky Styling. Wardrobe Surgery by Annika Sanders and Kerry Seager, a translation in which I've only partly contributed but was happy to choose to be published in Finland.
The wooden pens in the picture are a gift I made to my mom and date back to the time I also prepared the recycled frame quotes for my sisters (see Salla and Essi). The present card accompanying the pens, that I typed with an old-fashioned typewriter, reads: "Write the story of your life"...

FIN "Järjestä omaisuutesi kasoiksi, kiipeä päälle ja lue tärkeitä kirjoja maisemasta nautiskellen." (Andreas Angelidakis, arkkitehti, Ateena) – Minä tein kasan parhaista "Recyclie"-suomennoksistani. Olen kääntänyt kaikenlaisia kirjoja ja kirjasia, lemmikkikirjoista keittokirjoihin, mutta nämä tässä sopivat täydellisesti blogiini: Sarah Mooren Vintage Home (ei kuvassa, koska se ei ole vielä ilmestynyt suomeksi – kirja julkaistaan nimellä "Viehättävä vintage-koti", ja sen julkaisija on Karisto), Annie Sloanin Maalaa ja tuunaa vanhoja huonekaluja ja Annika Sandersin ja Kerry Seagerin Junky Styling. Huippumuotia vanhoista vaatteista, eli teos, jonka käännöstyöhön osallistuin vain osittain mutta jonka julkaisemisesta suomeksi olin ilokseni päättämässä.
Kuvan puiset kynät ovat lahja, jonka tein äidilleni, ja ne ovat samalta ajalta kuin sisarilleni (katso Salla ja Essi) tekemät kierrätyshuoneentaulut. Kynien mukana seuranneessa pakettikortissa, jonka kirjoitin vanhanaikaisella kirjoituskoneella, luki: "Kirjoita oman elämäsi tarina" ...

ITA "Ammucchia le tue cose, salici sopra e leggi libri importanti mentre ti godi la vista." (Andreas Angelidakis, architetto, Atene; trad. Katja K.) – Io ho impilato le mie migliori traduzioni "Recyclie" in finlandese; ho tradotto tutti i tipi di libri e opuscoletti, dai ricettari ai libri su animali domestici, ma questi qui sono perfettamente in linea con il blog: Vintage Home di Sarah Moore (non nella foto, siccome la traduzione deve ancora uscire in Finlandia), Quick and Easy Paint Transformations di Annie Sloan e Junky Styling. Wardrobe Surgery di Annika Sanders e Kerry Seager, una traduzione da me scelta per essere pubblicata in Finlandia alla quale ho solo parzialmente collaborato.
Le penne di legno nella foto sono un regalo che ho fatto a mia madre e risalgono al tempo in cui ho confezionato anche le citazioni incorniciate e personalizzate per le mie sorelle (vedi Salla ed Essi). Sulla cartolina che accompagnava le penne, che ho battuto con una macchina da scrivere vecchio stile, c'era scritto: "Scrivi la storia della tua vita"...
